Louisiana Winter Day Update & $$$ Saving Hacks!

 Happy (Louisiana) Winter Day!

I hope all my south Louisiana friends are staying warm today!

Yes, I am still alive... just been MIA from the AFTM blog. I’ve been trying my hardest to be present in all things work and family lately. I blame being busy for putting the blog on the backburner, but I will try and blog more in the upcoming months.

I have a HUGE update and some money savings hacks in this blog post.

Pampered Chef Consultant?!?! Say what!

In December, I decided to host a VIRTUAL Facebook Pampered Chef party. The consultant asked me if I would consider being a consultant and without thinking about it I said, “NO”  in a fast second. After some thoughts and prayers, I transitioned my normal Pampered Chef party into a Launch party! I became a consultant (only for $25) and became super excited for my new journey. Not only did I earn commission on my party, but I earned over $500 in FREE products! I barely did any work as a host because my consultant was AMAZING.

Since that first week in January, I had my mom and a close friend host a VIRTUAL party. Next week, I have two more parties scheduled. I am super excited to keep this new journey rolling through the new year. You might think, a party?!! No way! Also, it is a VIRTUAL online Facebook party! (Facebook not your thing, don’t worry! We can work out another way for a virtual party.) You do nothing, but add your friends and family and the consultants do all the work while you get all the benefits. You might think you are too busy, but trust me!. And who doesn’t love to shop? Especially online shopping!

Just a few of my freebies from when I hosted my party & reached some levels of personal sales!

Be sure to respond via email, text, or Facebook message if you want a Pampered Chef FREEBIE from me! :)

(Got these to try out for Brody, since we need to up his veggies and fiber.)

If Pampered Chef isn't your thing, maybe you can host a party and get items for your friends and family at a discounted rate for their birthday or Christmas presents. Just a thought!

If you are looking for ways to save, feel free to check out these below. I use these often and want you to know about these ways to save.

  • Get Upside App (I shared about it before on the blog, but I am going to reshare today.)

  • Rakuten Extension/Website/ App

  • Fetch App

  • Upromise App/Website

Get Upside I use this app mostly for gas, but they do have restaurants and other places you can use to get money back. My sister told me about this app a while back and I have been hooked. So far I have earned $78.31. You can cash out in the form of gift cards (lots of choices), Paypal, or your bank account. Right now, I can cash out $11.86, but I am letting it grow a little bit. You can even refer your friends and family and get money back on their purchases as well. Check out the special offer below!

Hey!

I've been using this free GetUpside app to save money on gas and other everyday errands — I love it!

Give it a try. It's super easy to use and is basically free money that really adds up.

You'll get up to 25¢/gal cash back on gas in addition to this bonus I'm about to give you. That's up to 40¢/gal total cash back!

Use this link or enter my promo code NATALIE73788 to get an extra 15¢/gal in free gas the first time you use the app: https://upside.app.link/NATALIE73788

I'll also get an extra 15¢/gal cash back after you use the app (so thanks!).

Rakuten I used this a FEW years ago when it was under a different name, Ebates. I forgot about it, but then logged in and saw it tracked a hotel stay we booked in December. I got $5 back on that hotel visit. Basically, every time you shop online each company has a different percentage. For example, if you use this website and shop at Hilton today you can get 2.5% back. I was browning for ULL basketball tickets today and Ticketmaster is showing up to 3% back today.

Over the years, it is showing that I saved a total of $168.59. Just like GetUpside, you can cash out your savings via Paypal.

Feel free to sign up here: https://www.rakuten.com/r/NMS840?eeid=28187

If you join, you get $30 back.

Fetch Fetch is one that I learned about from a substitute teacher at my school. I quickly downloaded it and it was very user friendly. I shared it with my sister and she uses it too. Basically, save all your receipts and scan them. You get points for every receipt you can and then some items (more grocery items) will give you extra points. For example, we got Ocean Spray juice the other day and it was almost double the rewards. I cashed out in November and got a $10 Target gift card. Right now I have almost 7,000 tokens. I can cash out, but I am saving up for a bigger gift card. Oh, I almost forgot. If you shop online, no problem. You can sync up your online accounts (Target, Walmart, Amazon) and it will give you your rewards as well.

This is the app I use to turn all my receipts into gift cards. It’s called Fetch. It’s free and super easy to use.

Sign up with my referral code (WVJQ3N) and get 2,000 points for your first receipt. Download the app here to get started: https://fetchrewards.onelink.me/vvv3/referralemail?code=WVJQ3N

Upromise In my email one day, I got an email about Upromise and linking a college START Savings account to it. I thought wow! What a great idea! Brody has a START college savings account; therefore, I linked the account. Basically, you use the website or the app and a percentage goes back to the account you have synced. In just about a month, I have saved about $30. This will be deposited directly to his college savings account. On the website, you can browse stores and see how much cash back you will get and then you can get a special bonus for certain items in grocery deals.

Upromise helps you save for college. I save everyday by shopping online, buying groceries, and dining at local restaurants. You can earn $5.29 now by signing up and another $25 when you link a 529 plan. Take a look!

Welcome to Adventures of a Frugal Teacher Mom (AFTM)!

My name is Natalie Chustz, and I am from Cajun country also known as south Louisiana. I am an educator teaching young learners at a small Catholic school and a mom to an active two-year-old. I enjoy all things educational technology, photography, traveling, camping (or glamping), wine, and just enjoying the little things in life. I have a big family with three brothers and three sisters; therefore, family time is the best time in my opinion.  Just recently, during a huge shopping trip finding huge sales after Christmas, I found a new hobby…. PUZZLES! Who would have thought!?!? It is actually a great stress reliever, especially if you have a glass of wine or two or completing with family or friends. I completed my first puzzle on New Years. It only took two days since I had huge help from the family.  After a few adventures in 2020 (the pandemic year), a colleague gave me a bright idea. She commented on a post on Facebook and the idea was born… A BLOG! Me?!?!? A writer, no way! I just l

Sweet Summertime & Back to School

Well…. Summer (break) is over and now it is back to school! What a wonderful summer it was! I hope it was restful, relaxing, and rejuvenating for you.  During our last HOORAH before the new school year, I thought to myself “It has been a super long time since I opened my computer to write a blog post.” We did a stay-cation to New Roads, the hubby’s hometown, and this is exactly what we all needed.  Check out the link on AIRBNB if you are curious to view our stay-cation place. The views, the cozy cottage feel, and the decks/patios were amazing to wind down before school starts.  Before the trip, I bought these cute little “tackle boxes” or storage containers from Dollar Tree. I have been wanting to try out the Snack Mom Hack for a while. Before we left four our staycation, I packed up the Snack Boxes. They were a big success and baby boy enjoyed his assortment of snacks. We will use these in the future and might be good for hubby's fishing or hunting adventures. I did not have a lo
